Halfway Reflection

Tenacious: not easily stopped or pulled apart; very determined to do something (Webster)

To: Student in the future

Tenaciousness is a competency. You must be able to keep organized throughout this course or you will end up falling behind on the material that aides you to become an overall better entrepreneur. I have developed patience as well as increased my listening skills through the various interviews we have had to conduct thus far. In order to keep up with the class work do not be afraid of asking friends what they think, as well as reaching out to the course itself and looking at past submissions that were deemed fantastic. You may think you are on the money with your answers to the blog based questions, but you may not correctly be interpreting what the questions are really asking of you. As long as you aren't afraid to be wrong sometimes and take the chance to better your overall competency, you will do great in this course.

Tenaciousness is also about attitude. There have been times when I wanted to just close my laptop and be done with an assignment that was only half way completed to my standards; but I remembered that ultimately these assignments are going to help me in my career. I look at the future as I do my work and it helps me see why this is all important and what the purpose of it all is. I have developed a tenacious attitude over the past two months because I have learned that trying to better yourself for yourself is overall more important and more rewarding than anything else throughout college. My social and home life has contributed to this the most, my circle of close friends aides me to see the ideal picture for my future and they are my greatest motivation.

  1. Hi Nicole,

I agree with your statements about how this course requires a multitude of skills to be successful. I have also found that I need to be more comprehensive in my listening and reading skills. This is important, because becoming an entrepreneur is not an easy single skill task. In order to create something successful, you must be able to manager all different types of tasks.
